Conversion

I think the tone of this blog has become too dark and cynical. There's a lot of tearing down but not much uplift. Maybe you've noticed? Part of it is just my nature. I'm a cynical guy. But lately —e.g, here, here, here, here, and here— it seems to have spun out of control. So I'm going to tone it down. From here on it's going to be a kinder, gentler B, starting....NOW.

I saw the most beautiful rainbow this evening on my drive home. Rainbows give me a warm feeling inside. It made me want to see more, so I did a Google Image Search and found these:

Here's a strange one:

Talk about a scrumptious rainbow! I want this for my birthday cake:

Of course rainbows make me think of unicorns:

And Genesis, which reminds me of all the Noahs that I know:

And funny pattern socks:

It's amazing the wonderful variety of rain....

OK, You know what. This isn't really working for me. I'm trying to be kinder and gentler but it still comes out sounding like sarcasm. I can't help it. I guess maybe I'm just more comfortable being an asshole.

Oh well, it was worth a shot.

Hey, did I mention that in high school this was my favorite album to listen to stoned?

We certainly do live in the land of rainbows (singles and doubles). I'd never seen an actual end of a rainbow until moving to OR, but to see one on my back property, amazing!

Hey, and dark doesn't necessarily mean you're a jerk.

You went from cynic to Pollyanna: how about something in the middle, say, sharp and gentle, piercing but kind?

A good post is a three act play. In this case, boy meets cynicism, boy loses cynicism, boy reclaims cynicism.

If you stop in the middle there's no dramatic arc to drive the narrative. It's boring.

I was going to post it but it didn't pass the smell test.
