What To Do? #94

Today marks exactly one year since I returned from Paris. I still have fond memories of that trip. I was a free man. I felt unfettered and alive. There was nobody callin' me up for favors and no one's future to decide. You know I'd go back there tomorrow but for the work I've taken on stokin' the star-makin' machinery.

Here are twenty shots from the trip.

Wait... I can't see the Eiffel Tower. What did you think when you were there Blake ?

Nice to see that your pics don't owe that much to Paris but much more of your own style so to speak. By the way I got two of those as work prints and another from Paris that I posted to my blogs few weeks ago. Was George Kelly with you back then ? I think I saw few Paris shots from him, including one with an old man with tie and a pipe.

I used to love shooting in Paris. Until I discovered Japan.

I figure if Atget could go 40 years without shooting the Eiffel Tower I could do it for a few days.

George K. can be seen in the first and last of these photos in his usual pose.

You're right about Atget, and I find it puzzling that he did not, especially since the construction was new back then, and not as cliched as it is now (but instead controversial it was)

I've just read your old post about that: http://blakeandrews.blogspot.com/2008/08/whats-so-special-about-eiffel-tower.html
